Benspiro tablets for dogs come from the house of Vivaldis Animal Health. It is a heart medicine for canines.

Ben-spiro is a FDA approved medication for the treatment of Congestive heart failure in dogs due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency (AVVI), myxomatous mitral valve disease.and brought to India for the first time by Vivaldis. Benazepril belongs to the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor class of drugs & Spironolactone with its active metabolites, acts as special aldosterone antagonist.

Spironolactone and benazepril together target the RAAS system(Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System) at different levels in the cascade. Studies have shown 69% reduction in risk of mortality when cardiac dogs received spironolactone in addition to an ACE inhibitor like benazepril.

Dosage: Ben-spiro should be administered orally once daily at a dose of 2 mg/kg. spironolactone and 0.25 mg/ kg benazepril hydrochloride, according to dog body weight using a suitable combination of whole or half tablets or as prescribed by a practicing veterinarian. Should be given with food. Benspiro is well-tolerated with the combination of pimobendan.

For dogs only – Not recommended for cats.

Ingredients: Each Benspiro chewable tablet contains Spironolactone 40mg & Benzepril 5mg or Spirolocatone 80mg and Benazepril 10mg according to the variant chosen.
