*What is canine hip dysplasia?
Canine hip dysplasia is an orthopedic condition in which the affected joint, usually the hips and elbows, do not develop correctly. This can lead to joint cartilage degeneration, pain, inflammation, and difficulty in movement. It is more common in large breeds (larger in size) and may be hereditary.
Diagnosis is made through radiographs and treatment may include dietary changes, medications, and surgery. Early detection of hip or elbow dysplasia and veterinary care are essential to improve the dog’s quality of life, maintaining its physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
