Visio tear eye drop contains polyvinyl alcohol and povidone along with chlorbutol. Polyvinyl alcohol is a non-ionic surfactant is used as stabilizing agent, lubricant and increases viscosity of the preparation. Povidone has mucinomimetic properties. It helps in retaining the tears on cornea longer. It acts as artificial tear and eases dryness and soreness associated with keratoconjuctivitis sicca or dry eye conditions.
